Introduction:

Phillips Eye Institute (PEI), located in Minneapolis, Minn., is the nation's third largest specialty hospital dedicated to eye diseases and disorders. PEI draws nearly 16,000 inpatients and outpatients each year from a five-state region. Its 180 employees and more than 160 affiliated physicians provide an array of services, from diagnostic tests and vision rehabilitation to laser eye treatments and specialized eye surgery.
Responsibilities:
Be responsible for planning, development and implementation of aggressive fundraising strategies, including annual events (Urban Cocktail Party) and two to three special events, that support the mission and long-range plan of the Philips Eye Institute Foundation.
Play a major role in maintaining the strong philanthropic tradition of the Phillips Eye Institute Foundation (formerly Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation), while assisting with designing and implementing a long-term fundraising plan and structure that reflects Allina's evolving model of healthcare for both its local campuses and across the system.
Represent the Foundation to all its internal and external constituencies to create awareness of its strategies and programs, including Annual Community Giving Campaign in collaboration with Allina Office of Philanthropy.
Provide leadership and support to the Foundation board and other key volunteers to inspire them to engage their sphere of community influence in the fundraising activities of the Foundation.
Seek out potential sources of funding and develop relationships with these sources in order to ensure the achievement of short and long term fundraising goals.
Develop and manage the annual Foundation budget and revenue projections.
Oversee grant making projects to the hospital neighborhood and community.
Ensure compliance with all laws and regulatory requirements, hospital policies and donor instructions.
Other responsibilities as requested by the President or the Foundation board.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Social Service or related fields.
Master degree preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge, minimum 5 years progressive development related experience and proven track record of fund development, most specifically in the area of major gift/ planned giving, capital campaigns, fundraising, communications / marketing, volunteer management, community relations, and program delivery.
Experience n health care philanthropy preferred.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
40 hours per week; Monday - Friday 8a - 5p; available evening and weekends.
