Our client is a total plastics contract manufacturer and product design company. They specialize in manufacturing complex, high-precision injection molded components and assemblies. They are seeking to add to their team to ensure they give each client the best the industry has to offer.
Responsibilities:
Develop improvements to existing products and tooling to improve cycle times, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Identifies, recommends, initiates, and implements programs in manufacturing to reduce cost, improve quality, improve service, or improve environmental, health, & safety (EHS) impact.
Stay current on new equipment, process controls, materials developments, and other technical advances.
Works with customers to clearly understand customer needs and specifications. Conducts Design for Manufacturability Analyis (DFMA) studies with the customer to develop optimum designs including MoldFlow analysis, tolerance review, stack-up review, etc.
Facilitates mold design reviews with the customer and the mold maker.
Coordinates New Product Introduction by performing tooling and equipment testing and certifications (DOE, Sampling, PPAP, etc).
Evaluates ongoing injection molding processes and systems using Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis and Lean Manufacturing techniques to identify areas for improvement
Follows all company and regulatory policies and procedures including but not limited to FDA, ISO, QSR, GMP, OSHA, and/or other applicable standards.
Requirements:
BS in Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum of eight (8) years experience in plastic injection molding is required.
Medical device manufacturing is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of precision plastic injection molding, insert molding, mold construction and prototyping.
Understanding of polymer material properties and the practical applications.
ISO, Lean Mfg and MPR experience
Excellent communication and team-building skills
