Position Description

Mechanic classification performs the majority of tasks noted below, and includes other related duties as assigned:

  • Has the ability to arrive at Target Field in 50 minutes or less

  • Perform inspections on generator sets

  • Must be able to be “on call” for a rotational schedule

  • Inspects, cleans, repairs, and lubricates portable sump pumps and drain systems

  • Inspects, lubricates, troubleshoots, repairs, and adjusts controls of all heating/cooling pumps and mixing valves

  • Tests, cleans, lubricates, monitors, and inspects water and air cooled compressors and vacuum pumps; repairs and replaces components (including filters) if isolated by an approved backflow preventer

  • Inspects, lubricates, repairs, and maintains (including filters) air handling equipment including fixed blade axial fans and fume hood systems

  • Tests and inspects fire extinguishers and all associated fire suppression systems including; pumps, motors, valves, dry systems, etc.

  • Operation and maintenance of all HVAC systems throughout Ballpark

  • Familiarity with refrigeration systems (EPA refrigerant certification preferred)

  • Maintains and replaces light fixtures/bulbs, and ballasts accordingly

  • Cleans waste from fixtures up to and including the P Trap

  • Identifies and orders spare parts

  • Tests, and maintains heat trace pipe warmers

  • Adjusts temperatures and flushes water heaters

  • Replaces fan sheaves, shafts, bearings and motors

  • Repairs flushometers, faucets, and toilet flush assemblies

  • Maintains and repairs small engines, motors, equipment, doors, locks and tools.

  • Repairs motors and pumps

  • Operates and maintains irrigation systems

  • Exchanges and replaces compressed gas cylinders

  • Performs minor electrical maintenance (switch/outlet plates, replaces lamps, resets breakers, etc.)

  • Maintains and repairs general building systems and hardware

  • Maintains and replaces bathroom accessories.

  • Performs welding

  • Displays CMMS competency in performing parts/equipment/work order searches, ordering parts

  • Notifies supervisor of equipment or supplies in need of repair or replenishment; also of facilities in need of repair or upkeep

  • Maintains and repairs overhead doors

  • Plans and performs winterization activities throughout the Ballpark

  • Operates equipment and is responsible for snow removal on the property

  • Maintains all service vehicles and equipment as appropriate

  • Performs various inspections throughout facility

  • Assists others in the organization as assigned


  • Requirements :
  • Vocational education in mechanical maintenance totaling two years and three years of applicable work experience.

  • Must possess knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical and fire suppression systems in large facilities.

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor, lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work in confined spaces wearing proper PPE

  • Ability to work in extreme hot/cold, dirty spaces

  • Ability to climb ladders and perform work overhead

  • Ability to climb, stoop, bend, stand, crawl, push and pull for extended periods of time

  • Ability to perform snow removal duties including shoveling and operating a snow removal equipment

  • Ability to use hand tools and specialized power tools

  • Ability to operate heavy equipment including fork lifts and bobcats

  • Ability to work at heights using appropriate fall protection equipment
