Director, Business Architecture
In this leadership role, will serve as a key catalyst in taking an idea and making it a reality which grows our OptumHealth Financial Services organization. Will directly partner with business executives and be accountable for creating a business architecture which allows for the delivery of technology solutions to enable product capabilities. Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Fully understanding product and business strategies and develop and communicate enterprise roadmaps
  • Collaborating with leaders to evaluate business processes and automation opportunities
  • Analyzing business problems / opportunities
  • Driving ideation and delivery of solutions
  • Working with sales/marketing, operations, technology delivery and project management teams to ensure successful delivery
  • Delivering to commitments on time and on quality
  • Leading and delivering process modeling services, including creating process flows (as is and to be) and use cases
  • Discussing flows / models with both business and technology audiences
  • Leveraging enterprise assets and driving reuse
  • Cultivating relationships with both business and technology communities across our matrixed organization
  • Driving people and process changes
  • Evangelizing the value of the Business Architecture function
  • Leading and mentoring a team of Business Architects
Qualifications
Candidates will possess:
  • Proven Business Architecture experiences within (or as a consultant to) a Fortune 100 organization
  • Specific expertise in Process Modeling and Use Case development
  • Knowledge of either the Enterprise Architect or BPMN Notation tool desired, but not required
  • Demonstrated ideation, planning and problem-solving skills
  • 5 + years of successful people management experience
  • Inspirational leadership style that promotes innovation and collaboration and fosters commitment to a shared vision
  • Ability to build the right team, focus people and model integrity
  • Proven experience managing organizational growth and change
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with business executives
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective
  • Prior success delivering solutions in a large, matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with business and technology leaders, as well as external clients
  • Proven success leveraging technology to meet business objectives
  • Results-orientated individual with strong influencing, problem solving, consensus building and negotiation skills
  • High level of emotional intelligence and outstanding collaboration abilities
  • Track record of consistent, high quality delivery based on accountability
  • Proven emotional maturity within a large matrixed organization
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships
  • Experience with Financial Services, Consumer Directed Healthcare and/or Payables of value
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
