| Applications are now being accepted for part-time hourly positions for the current school year in Saint Paul Public Schools Area Learning Center (ALC) Extended Day Programs. ALC Teachers work after school for two and a half hours per day, two -four days per week. Classes are held at all Saint Paul Public Schools and community sites. The ALC Extended Day Program is funded through the State of Minnesota and is operated within the Saint Paul Public School District. | Minimum Qualifications_ -Valid Minnesota license. Looking for all content areas. Knowledge,Skills and Abilities: -Experience working effectively with at-risk students in a multi-age classroom. -Knowledge of standards based curriculum. -Experience designing and implementing curriculum. -Collaborative supervisory skills with paraprofessionals. -Good oral and written communication skills. -Knowledge of student assessment tools. -Ability to work with diverse populations of students and parents. | |
| Responsibilities | |
| -Perform teaching duties and/or provide substitute teaching. -Teach school day curriculum supplemented with ALC Extended Day curriculum. -Monitor student attendance and take attendance on the ALC online attendance system. -Complete Continual Learning Plans (CLPs) in a timely fashion. -Monitor student pick-up via buses, walking lines, or parent pick-up. -Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals involved in the classroom, snack room, and attendance entry. -Other duties as assigned the ALC Office or Building Principal. | |
| Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule | |
| ALC Teachers are compensated at the $25.35 an hour as specified in the teachers labor agreement for Area Learning Center staff. No other benefits apply. All ALC employees are paid on a two-week holdback. Teachers may be required to attend training workshops,which are compensated at the teachers contracted workshop pay-rate as stated inAppendix D of the Agreement between the Saint Paul Board of Education and the SaintPaul Federation of Teachers. Employment in the ALC Elementary Extended DayProgram is at will. The School District can terminate the employment of an individualworking in ALC Elementary Extended Day Program at any time with or without cause, and with or without notice. | |
