Title: Evening High School Teacher

Location: ALC - Gordon Parks High

	General Information
	EHS program offers evening classes and serves students 16 years and older. Learners attend as full-time students to earn their high school diplomas or as dual-enrolled students to makeup credits lost at traditional high school. Class sizes are usually small. One Biology Teacher Two Math Teachers Four English Teachers Hours are 5:30 until 8:35 on Monday and Wednesday and the same for Tuesday and Thursday. 	Qualifications
	Minimum Qualifications: -Valid Secondary teaching license in the area of Biology, Mathematics or English, issued by the Minnesota Department of Education. Knowledge,Skill and Abilities: -Knowledge of research and trends in teaching and learning styles, as well as, teaching and learning strategies to meet a wide range of student learning styles and abilities. -Strong interpersonal skills to include the ability to work effectively with teachers, parents and students from diverse backgrounds. -Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
	Responsibilities
	The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties: -Support the State of Minnesota Graduation Standards and content area packages to promote curriculum in the school. -Develop and maintain a multicultural, gender and disability-fair curriculum that supports the curriculum of the school. -Work effectively with students, staff, community members and parents from various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. -Seek community input to develop a curriculum that reflects the diversity of students. -Provide leadership and demonstrate willingness to seek and provide professional growth and development in the area of subject -Develop and implement innovative methods for serving students in a school with a flexible schedule. -Perform other duties as assigned.
	Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule
	Hours are 5:30 until 8:35 on Monday and Wednesday and the same for Tuesday and Thursday. The rate if pay is $25.35 per hour.

	Transcript - Unofficial transcripts are accepted at the time of hire. You must submit official transcripts within 30 days of your start date. Formal credential evaluation is required for post-secondary education completed outside of the United States. Veteran's Preference - If you are an eligible veteran applying for a job where veteran's preference applies and wish to claim Veterans Preference you must submit a legible copy of your DD214 to the Human Resource Department with your employment application. If your claim is approved, five or ten additional points will be added to your final passing score. Criminal Background Investigation and Reference Checks - Reference checks and a criminal background investigation will be completed as a condition of hire for all new employees and for former employees who have not been employed by the District for more than six months.
