We are currently recruiting for a Project Controls Specialist to create, maintain, monitor and analyze cost and resource loaded schedules for IT capital and O&M projects, utilizing Primavera P6. This individual will work closely with Project Managers to develop risk mitigation action plans to correct negative trends in cost and schedule and will independently report project controls information to management. Specifically the roles’ requirements will include the following: * Create and maintain project data in Primavera P6 * Gather regular status updates from project managers and project teams * Calculate revised schedules, costs and resource allocations * Assemble project budgets and develop ongoing project forecasts * Review and monitor project data for completeness and standardization * Compare the affect project status updates have on resource loaded baseline schedules and determine the variance in cost, schedule and resources * Assess project variances, evaluate options for corrective action and work closely with Project Managers to implement changes required to keep projects on track * Assess and report to management what impact changes from individual projects have on the overall portfolio of IT projects * Provide regular status reports to Project Managers on project schedules, cost and resources in comparison to baselines * Prepare and present to various levels of management information on project projections and performance required for budgeting, forecasting and monitoring purposes * Assist and train others in utilizing GRE project management and reporting tools to develop and run their own reports To qualify you must have: * Bachelor’s degree in a technology, engineering or business related field * 5+ years of project controls related experience * Demonstrated skills in project scheduling and controls processes, tools and techniques * Ability to use project management software, experience with Primavera P6 is strongly preferred * Ability to develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation plans * Ability to apply Earned Value (EV) analysis to assess project performance * Ability to perform critical path (CPM) analysis of project schedules and propose changes to keep projects on-track * Ability to effectively communicate with various disciplines, consultants, and contractors * Ability to negotiate by collaborating with others to arrive at a conclusion using compromise, persuasion, rationale, and diplomacy * Ability to independently plan, organize, prioritize time and workload in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines * Skill in logical problem solving, with the ability to thoroughly research issues and analyze various types of information * Skill in developing and delivering effective presentations For more information about Great River Energy please visit our website at www.greatriverenergy.com.
