Responsibilities:
Works as part of a physician/NP-PA team, providing and coordinating care for acute and critically ill cardiovascular medical/CV surgical patients in tertiary care multi-specialty cardiovascular practice including Heart Failure/Transplant/Ventricular Assist Device patients. Working in collaboration with the on-call physician staff, the NP/PA provides onsite coverage from 7 pm - 7 am weekdays and 24 hours on weekends for the Cardiovascular Program including Heart Failure/Transplant/Ventricular Assist Device patients. Specific duties include: serves as an onsite resource to hospital staff and responds to hospital unit calls for acute patient needs; provides first-response, rapid assessment and intervention in situations with acute patient deterioration; directs urgent diagnostic evaluation, prescribing/titrating vasoactive medications and troubleshooting ventricular assist device issues.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's prepared Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Experience:
3-5 years critical care cardiovascular experience.
Skills:
Computer literate. Medical terminology required.
License Required.
