Position Description

Develop, implement and define annual employee communications strategy for the Corporate Sector. Plan and implement highest priority employee communications strategies that support the objectives, culture and success of the Corporate Sector.

Position Responsibilities

* Develop and implement an employee communications strategy for Corporate Sector that includes the Quality, Operations and IT organization, Finance, Legal, HR, Health Policy, Corporate Communications, Strategy and Innovation and Medicine and Technology. Establish regular communications channels and communcation themes.
* Connect Corporate Sector communications to overarching Medtronic strategies and objectives. Develop and support the shaping of employee communication themes and messages. Develop and support strategic communication plans as well as other tactical employee communication initiatives.
* Consult, collaborate and assist HR partners and Sector leaders in addressing highest priority employee communications needs for the functions that compose the sector. Develop strategies to build the communications competency of Human Resource Generalists and Corporate Managers to advance robust employee communications across the Corporate Sector. Actively consult with Corporate Sector teams and managers to develop and implement complementary communication strategies around the organization.
* Support business strategies and the continuous development of an agile and nimble organization by leveraging effective employee communications methods. Provide strategic input into the planning, creation and execution of various employee communication programs and events.
* The scope of this role is to develop and support internal communication strategies at all levels of the Corporate Sector focused on communicating with employees in this sector. Supports the development, implementation and success of the employee communication strategy by creating messaging and material for regular, ongoing communication with employees. This includes framing and interpreting major organizational issues so that these messages can be readily understood by employees at various levels. Communication responsibilities are directed towards internal Corporate Sector employees and do not include internal marketing campaigns for programs/initiatives aimed at all Medtronic employees.
* Specific responsibilities include: Employee communication strategic planning, development of social media tools, consulting on employee meetings, recognition programs, communications vehicles such as the Intranet and newsletters, feedback/measurement. Link between all Corporate Sector departments; lead communication of common themes and One Medtronic initiatives,
* Relationship & Influence Management: Consult with and provide employee communications support to senior leaders. Build relationships based on confidence and competency. Demonstrate all Core Behaviors. Build partnerships with key internal resource groups including Corporate Communications and e-Marketing.

Basic Qualifications

Education:
* BA/BS degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field
Experience:
* 8+ years Communications experience

Specialized Knowledge Required:
* Experience developing Social Media Tools
* Project management and planning skills
* Consulting skills
* Proven ability to communicate clearly about complex business issues to an employee audience
* Exceptional presentation, oral and written communication skills

* Attention to detail in delivering on time and within planned budgets
