Job Title: SPECIALS TECHNOLOGIST

Primary Function:
& Major Responsibilities
This is a Lead Special Procedures Tech position. Perform all phases of special imaging procedures. Also, must be willing to help in other modalities within the Radiology department.

Performs diagnostic, vascular, or other related procedures to aid in diagnosis determination.

Assists Radiologist and/or staff physician in special procedure performance to expedite patient flow.

Assists in maintenance of equipment to ensure proper function and availability.

Maintains department aesthetics to ensure appropriate image.

Maintains supply inventory to ensure availability of required items.

Provides appropriate information for billing purposes to ensure prompt and accurate charge data.

Trains alternate staff to provide adequate staffing.

Coordinates coverage for special procedures to provide continuous service availability.

Provides coverage for after-hour services to ensure continuous service availability.
Qualifications: Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and ARRT (R) registration in current standing.

Experience:
5-7 years experience in Interventional Radiology. Previous Lead experience preferred.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of all phases of special imaging procedures.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups (neonatal through geriatric). Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s needs in relation to age and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures.
