General Purpose of Job: To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Perform tasks and duties associated with the maintenance and care of district facilities, equipment and grounds.
Primary Function: Install, repair and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment. Provides technical expertise to building level staff concerning maintenance, repair and operational needs of facilities. Vocational training in heating, ventilating and air conditioning required.
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limimted to, the following fundamental job duties.
Perform electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs.
Troubleshoot the operational failure of electrical and mechanical equipment such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, electrical and pneumatic controls. Apply understanding of computerized systems of control relating to heating/air conditioning.
Perform plumbing skills such as pipe threading, soft soldering and hard soldering, being able to use the right skill for the right job.
Perform arc and gas welding in the shop or in the field on different equipment such as mechanical, athletic, chairs, desks, etc.
Apply understanding of burner control sequence; pumps and dampers of various boiler operating district-wide. Adjust and monitor boilers and follow-up on PM’s.
Perform swimming pool repair work including replacement of chlorine regulators. Assist in maintenance of pumps.
Make recommendations to the Coordinator, Buildings and Grounds as to the repair and/or replacement of equipment.
Maintain materials, tools and manuals as needed.
Perform glove bag and mini enclosure asbestos repair.
Perform maintenance and drain cleaning of District tunnel systems.
Perform other duties as required or directed by appropriate supervisors.
Skills
Operational knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment such as boilers, heating, ventilation, refrigeration, air conditioning, etc. Operational knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment as they are used together on equipment. Demonstrate knowledge of computerized systems of control; ability to diagnose problems and program systems relating to heating/air conditioning.
Qualifications: Vocational training in heating, ventilating and air conditioning required. Electrical training desirable. First Class C Boiler's License. Refrigeration certification (EPA 1992).
Job Type: Full-time, year round, Summer Day hours

Salary Range: 19.47 - 25.35/hour
