Position Description

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting and training for both customers and internal employees. This position will work at customer sites assisting in installation and troubleshooting efforts to complete installs, or assisting with warranty work. Additionally, this position may be asked to provide back-up support for various positions within the Systems Integration department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSBILITIES.

90% - Technician

  • Function as a mentor, trainer, and a technical resource within Tierney Brothers, as well as on site during system installations
  • Provide technical support to customers having functionality issues with their system or components within their system
  • Train customers on using their system properly
  • Perform site visits to test system components and confirm system functionality
  • Diagnosis, troubleshooting, and correcting technical issues on site
  • Create Auto CAD drawings
  • Perform work as an Installer as needed
  • Perform work as an Engineer as needed
  • Perform work as a Project Manager as needed
  • Attend department meetings as necessary
  • Attend vendor meetings and assist in the evaluation of new products

    10% - Miscellaneous

  • Other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years technical training and seven years A/V experience in system installation, integration, programming, project mgmt, and/or design. A minimum of 10 + years A/V experience is preferred.

    Must hold a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

    Normally, this position regularly requires the employee to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl at high elevations that are accessible only by ladder or lift while performing equipment installation, system consultation, project management, and on-site troubleshooting and repair. This position requires the ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to eliminate the need to perform these specific physical requirements.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Extensive, demonstrated product and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • I.C.I.A.CTS certification or Power Technician License a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and Outlook required. AutoCAD or other design software program knowledge preferred. Internet knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret product information, manuals, and plans and specs.
  • Ability to research, evaluate and recommend products based on an analysis of customer needs.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal staff and outside customers.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, read blue prints, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to analyze and track inventory.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position works both in an office setting and on customer job sites.
