Exciting opportunity for qualified candidate(s) to be Substitute/On-Call Therapeutic Teachers in the Family Place therapeutic preschool program at St. David’s. Substitute teachers will work within the therapeutic classroom milieu to ensure that each child is provided with the opportunity to participate in experiences that will enrich all areas of the child’s relational and emotional development within a safe environment. Responsible for working closely with permanent teaching staff, program therapists, and program director, and for maintaining written records and observations during time in the classroom. Substitute hours available during both morning and afternoon classroom hours; ideal for graduate students and others seeking frequent opportunity for part-time employment.

Qualifications:
B.A. required, education or human services degree preferred
Experience working with children with special needs, particularly emotional/behavioral issues
Knowledge of child development and child disorders is helpful
Good organizational skills, attention to detail, patience, flexibility, creativity, resourcefulness, maturity, and ability to take direction and work as a team member
