The origins of Argosy University can be traced to the American Schools of Professional Psychology, the Medical Institute of Minnesota, and the University of Sarasota. These three schools merged to form Argosy University on September 1, 2001. Today, with the introduction of online education through our Chicago campus, Argosy University students can complete select undergraduate and graduate degree programs through campus learning, online learning, or a mix of both with our blended option.

As the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's (ELCA) most diverse and only urban institution, Augsburg strives to educate both traditional and non-traditional students, offering undergraduate degrees in over 50 major areas of study. The College also grants five graduate degrees: the Master of Arts in Education, the Master of Arts in Leadership, the Master of Social Work, the Master of Arts in Nursing, and the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, the state's only Physician Assistant training program.

Founded in 1860, Augustana is a selective, private, residential, comprehensive (liberal arts and professional) college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
