Responsibilities

In the role of Air Quality Section Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Take responsibility for section operations and management including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support
  • Function as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities
  • Take administrative responsibility for section staff, technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections
  • Select, train, develop and manage technical personnel and multidiscipline teams
  • Be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews
  • Be directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues
  • See that work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system
  • Implement, monitor and support company policy
  • Work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts
  • Review state and federal regulations to determine applicability and define compliance requirements for institutional, industrial and utility sources
  • Perform calculations to develop emission inventories for various source types
  • Conduct technical analyses such as computerized dispersion modeling to evaluate source impacts
  • Develop design options and/or recommendations and prepare service deliverable documents
  • Prepare air quality permit documents on behalf of clients and regulatory agencies, and coordinate and complete permitting projects
  • Work with applicable regulators on air quality related issues
  • Directly manage environmental compliance projects for select clients
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Meteorology or closely related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Minimum of 5 years-experience in air quality compliance/permitting field.
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work from the office a minimum of three days per week
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with air emission methodologies, construction and operating permits, and with regulations under NSR, Title V, NSPS, MACT, and CAM programs
  • Professional registration or license
  • Dispersion modeling experience and/or stack testing a plus but not required
