Hours: Monday – Wednesday: 3:15 PM – 2:45 AM; Thursday: 3:15 PM – 10:15 PM; overtime as needed

JOB SUMMARY: As the Diamond Saw Operator 2, you’ll be responsible for the programming, setup, and operation of various saws.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Loading and unloading saws with an overhead crane or by hand, based on the size of the slab or stone being cut
- Reading production tickets to determine work to be completed
- Reviewing work to ensure it meets production ticket specifications before and after cutting
- Indexing the saw blades to the correct sizes and dimensions based on the stone being cut
- Applying patterns and layout stone to utilize raw stone materials best
- Loading pre-programmed profiles from the network
- Performing operator-level calibration and alignment of the saws
- Creating cutting and profile programs for all of the saws from shop tickets and network .dxf files using AutoCAD
- Monitoring the saw during operation to make adjustments and corrections as needed
- Applying general knowledge of stone tolerances to repair, mill, apply angle and shape cuts, specific tooling, and other detailed work that is required per customer specifications
- Troubleshooting cutting problems that periodically arise
- Labeling all cut pieces with the correct job ID number
- Scanning bar code on production tickets to record work performed in the JDE system
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

- Must obtain forklift certification; training and certification provided by Coldspring
- Must have general computer and math skills
- Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production
- Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis on time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency
- Mechanically inclined
- Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings
- Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric
- Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed
