Responsibilities

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Coach serves as an expert consultant to the organization by developing and deploying programs for the achievement of a culture of quality and continuous improvement. The CI Coach develops the organization's knowledgebase and ability to apply lean/six sigma principles, A3 management, continuous improvement programs, and quality initiatives by educating and coaching others.

    Applies Lean principles and promotes adoption of standard work practices aimed at improving quality, safety, and flow.

  • Develop and deploy educational packages, tools, and systems to build quality, lean, problem solving and CI knowledge amongst all employees.

  • Coach staff, managers, and directors through knowledge transfer and adoption of lean thinking, problem solving, and CI. Act as a representative on relevant clinical and operational teams to align efforts, and provide improvement method training.

  • Apply knowledge of lean and six sigma principles to facilitate multi-disciplinary improvement teams to achieve measurable results, including all aspects of scoping, process mapping, data analysis, observation, and team education on improvement tools (waste walks, spaghetti diagrams, root cause, etc.)

  • Conduct analytical assessments of clinical and business operations to identify key improvement opportunities and drive root-cause problem solving.

  • Develops operational decision support tools as needed; including dashboards and leading indicators for continuous process improvement and optimization.

  • Ensure sustainability of improvements and changes by leveraging change management best practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field, industrial engineering, or business. Master's degree preferred.
  • Documented expertise and certification in Lean or Six Sigma.
  • At least 5 years of direct experience leading quality and process improvement projects.
  • Expert facilitation and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in healthcare related field, industrial engineering, or business
  • ean Bronze Certification or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Expert facilitator of kaizen workshops and/or Six Sigma projects
  • Healthcare operations experience and acumen
