Major Function

Develop & manage the execution of the part approval plan on multiple NPD/Sourcing projects. Ensure alignment (across sites, procurement, SQE's, SQDE's & R&D).

As the NPD Supplier Quality Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing supplier quality activities during the new product development process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that supplier components meet our high-quality standards. This role requires an eye for detail, strong technical knowledge, very well organization and excellent communication skills.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Part Approval process and development through execution phases, to support current development of the product design and manufacturing supplier process.
  • Part approval plan of PPAP and execution phases.
  • Measurement plan for parts received during the design development & verification stages of the project.
  • Plan to secure supplier process capability data on similar components or features in support of ensuring product design & manufacturing process robustness.
    Secure that the Supplier Quality work stream deliverables within New Product Development (NPD/Sourcing) projects are met & support team efforts to meet project goals (schedule, cost, quality).
  • Support the development of the supplier strategy within projects.
  • Develop and effectively manage the successful execution of the part approval plan & supplier development plans. Identify and work with core project team and global/ regional & supplier quality personnel to address risks. Provide weekly progress updates.
  • Work with procurement, supplier quality and design personnel to ensure alignment between supplier capability and design requirements.
  • Work with supplier quality personnel to verify effectiveness of supplier-related Corrective Actions.
  • Ensure step-change improvement in NPD product and supplier quality.
  • Work with supplier quality personnel to verify effectiveness of supplier related corrective actions (SCAR, TFR).
  • Support development & maintenance of Nilfisk supplier quality requirements / standards.
  • Drive supplier NPD execution process compliance across segments.

You will work with a multicultural team in America region where you will be based in Brooklyn Park, MN and you will collaborate with people from different locations and functions to manage supplier quality and project activities, in addition you will be in contact with high level team members at Nilfisk and supplier side.

Qualifications to succeed in the position.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (Master's degree is desirable).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in supplier quality engineering within the automotive / industrial sector.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and other relevant standards.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, such as Core Tools (FMEA, APQP, PPAP9) and engineering tools (GD&T's and Six Sigma).
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills with proven experience in any methodology as Ishikawa, 8D's, Red X / Shainin.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with suppliers and internal teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Proven project management and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier locations as needed (approximately 30%).
  • Leadership skills, self-driven management and decision making.
  • Internal / Lead auditor ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / VDA 6.3
