Enterprise Risk Manager

As an Enterprise Risk Manager at United Bankers' Bank, your expertise will be pivotal in reinforcing UBB's risk framework and ensuring the integrity of our operations. Collaborating with business units and the Internal Audit team, you'll be instrumental in shaping risk management strategies, enhancing vendor relationships, maintaining information security, and leading audit coordination efforts. In this dynamic role, your strategic vision will be essential in assisting UBB in navigating through the evolving landscape of enterprise risk.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Risk Management:
    • Collaborate with all business units to prioritize and document BCP response plans and conduct recurring testing.
    • Collaborate with the Bank's Internal Audit Function to enhance the ERM risk assessment for the organization and mature the library of risk and controls.
    • Lead/facilitate periodic management risk committee meetings to open up discussion on organization-wide and department-specific risk exposure.
    • Consolidate, organize and document bank-wide record retention practices.

  • Third Party Risk / Vendor Management:
    • In collaboration with the Information Security and IT teams, provide detailed CUEC responses for critical vendor SOC reviews.
    • Partner with the Financial Control department to enhance and maintain a comprehensive vendor management program from vendor onboarding through accounts payable to fully encapsulate the life-cycle of the process.
    • Partner with the Administrative Services team to enhance the ongoing process for vendor management reviews utilizing the team to complete reoccurring tasks and reporting for review.
    • Perform detailed SOC reviews (SOC 1 and 2) of all critical vendors. Reviews are to be modeled based on evaluations submitted as part of FDICIA.

  • Information Security:
    • Aggregate all cybersecurity and information security updates and provide them in monthly reporting to the Board of Directors ensuring Board awareness and approval as required by FFIEC regulatory framework.

  • Contract Management:
    • Oversee the contract management process in terms of monitoring for potential SLA compliance established, formalized periodic reporting, etc.

  • Audit/Exam Coordination:
    • Act as point person and coordinator for UBB SOC2 Type2 annual testing; coordinate with external audit partner and UBB Information Security and IT teams to track and satisfy testing requirements.
    • Act as point person for Regulatory examinations, partnering with the CFO or other executive management to coordinate discussions during the exam process, facilitate documentation requests, responses to findings and monitor resolutions.
    • Act as point person for Bank examinations. Primarily assisting in the facilitation of documentation requests, responses to findings, monitoring findings for resolution, etc.

  • BSA & Compliance:
    • Coordinate with the Bank's Compliance & BSA Manager to enhance and mature relevant processes that contribute to the Bank's risk framework.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field. Post-graduate degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Risk management, Business Continuity and/or IT.
  • Certifications in a Risk Management function and/or Information security preferred.
  • An understanding of FFIEC IT Examination Handbook Business Continuity Management, Third Party risk management and other regulatory expectations.
  • Excellent working knowledge of standard technical office applications (Microsoft Office suite).
  • Excellent professional communication skills, including interpersonal and written communications.
  • Working knowledge of information technology or technical security field.
  • Proven ability to work independently, and to exercise initiative and independent judgment, with no direct supervision.
  • Highly developed time management, organizational and prioritization skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
