Company Overview

Allied Waste is an alliance of hundreds of companies that have been serving their communities with local pride and ingenuity for decades. Regardless of our size, we are and always will be a local business. More than half of our operating management team consists of former owners and second- and third-generation industry professionals. Our managers know our business, they know our communities, and they are proud of the service we provide. We help them succeed by providing company-wide resources, including technical support, best practices, direction in regulated areas, and the benefits of economies of scale.

Collection Services
Allied Waste's network of 305 collection companies provides collection services to approximately 10 million customers nationwide. We serve residential customers under individual household subscriptions as well as municipal contracts. In addition, we serve industrial and commercial customers across the country, providing customized non-hazardous solid waste disposal services for local, regional and national accounts. Allied Waste is committed to providing excellent service to all our customers. We support this commitment by investing in equipment, technology and training programs that maximize our operational excellence and ensure the safety of our customers, employees and environment.

Transfer Services
Our 163 transfer stations are fundamental to our vertically integrated operations, as they improve our efficiency in collecting and transporting solid waste to recycling facilities and sanitary landfills.

Disposal Services
Allied Waste owns and operates 169 active landfills across the country, with an average remaining life of 30 years. Our professional landfill experts employ state-of-the art methods to maintain our landfills and protect our environment, while meeting or exceeding all federal, state and local regulations. We also provide customized consulting services for handling and disposing special non-hazardous wastes.

Recycling Services
Our 57 recycling facilities offer waste handling and collection services and educational programs in certain markets. We recycle more than 1.7 million tons of recyclable commodities a year, including paper, glass and plastics and reusable construction debris.
