Company Overview

Opportunity Partners supports people who have developmental disabilities and other special needs in their effort to improve their self sufficiency at work, at home, and in life. The range and depth of services offered by Opportunity Partners means that clients have flexibility among programs and can select the services that meet their needs.

Opportunity Partners provides personalized education, housing, and employment opportunities to more than 1200 clients with developmental disabilities, brain injury, autism, and other special needs. Special programs at Opportunity Partners include school to work transition programs, welfare to work transition programs, and senior programs.

Employment services for adults with developmental disabilities, brain injury, autism, and individuals moving from welfare to work. These services include supported employment, independent employment, job skill training, and temporary/flexible employment.

OP structures employment situations to meet the needs of the employers. We provide the education, training, and support structure to ensure that the opportunities enhance the lives of the clients while making good business sense for the employer. We maintain employment relationships with more than 100 local employers.

Residential services for people with developmental disabilities, including group homes and services for independent and semi independent living apartments or at home with their families. Opportunity Partners has 20 residences located throughout the Twin Cities. These community homes offer safe, well-maintained homes for clients. Other services support clients' independent living situations. The programs provide not just a place to live, but support in daily living skills and social opportunities.

Production services such as packaging, assembly, and direct mailing. These services, operated by Opportunity Partners, involve clients in “real life” employment situations. The production area serves as a training environment, teaching clients work skills, as well as a safety net employment situation for clients who lose their jobs in this uncertain economy.

Education includes classes that promote living skills as well as job training and community involvement activities. These classes help clients develop independent living skills. Clients learn how to balance a checkbook, how to grocery shop, and appropriate behaviors for the workplace. In addition, trips to local businesses provide opportunities for community integration.
