Company Overview

A private non-profit organization serving people with disabilities

Development Homes, Inc. (DHI) provides an array of housing, life-skills training and vocational services to more than 130 Grand Forks area residents with developmental and other disabilities. People supported range in age from infants to senior citizens in ability levels from mild impairments to profound involvement. Care requirements range from a few hours per week to 24 hour-a-day support. Support and training are provided in a variety of settings including group homes, individual apartments, family homes and individual job sites in the community.

DHI makes lifelong commitments and builds lifelong relationships with every person it serves. We are there at every stage in life, helping young people gain skills that will help them live and work independently; helping adults maintain their own homes, secure and retain meaningful employment; and providing a secure and stimulating retirement for senior citizens with developmental disabilities.

Mission and Philosophy:

Development Homes is committed to the provision of quality, community based support services to people with disabilities, enabling them to maximize their individual potential and realize their personal dreams.

In support of this mission, Development Homes strives to improve the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and their families. Development Homes helps people with developmental disabilities live independently and when that isn't possible, can provide them with safe and secure homes. Development Homes helps people lead fuller lives through training, recreation, work, and community involvement. Development Homes serves the society at large by heightening public awareness, understanding, support, and appreciation of people with developmental disabilities.
