Company OverviewHaldeman-Homme, Inc. was founded as the W. W. Haldeman Company in 1924. Initially the company dealt primarily in light material handling equipment for industry, but gradually expanded to include product offerings for the educational, health care and institutional fields.The company was headquartered at 2580 University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota, from its inception through 1962 when it leased larger office and warehouse space at 2205 East Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1966, the company erected a 14,000 square foot facility in the mid-city industrial park section at the St. Paul-Minneapolis city limits. The building was specifically designed to serve the company’s sales and service staff along with needed warehouse space. Due to its continued growth, the facility was expanded in 1969 and now provides over 40,000 square feet of combined office and warehouse space. In 1967, the Anderson Ladd Corporation, Minnesota’s leading supplier of commercial and residential hardwood flooring and athletic flooring, was added to the company's offering. At present, Haldeman-Homme employs 150. The turnover ratio is very low which reflects its founder’s dedication to insuring the financial strength and continuity of the company through such programs as an employee stock ownership program. A profit sharing program was started in 1956. The corporation has contributed 25% of its annual payroll to employees' stock ownership plans each year from its inception. In 1987 the company completed the conversion to 100% employee ownership. The range of products offered has grown reflecting the highest quality serving a varied clientele of contractors, architects, healthcare facilities, colleges and universities, and providing design, sales and service of laboratory equipment, classroom and science casework, athletic flooring, material handling and storage equipment, filing systems and software, and technology education equipment and curriculum. While the value of the company has grown an average of 17% per year over the past 10 years, the continued focus of employee ownership will be the foundation for our future growth. Employee ownership brings greater commitment to our process, which transcends to more happy customers. To maintain our high product quality we employ approximately 70 full time carpenter specialists for final installation and service. This results in increasing our customer satisfaction while growing our customer base. Our sales professionals are trained to be a resource in product information while our support staff provides CAD layouts, estimating, and project management. The Anderson Ladd flooring division is privileged to be one of five North American dealers with a Robbins, Inc. sanctioned athletic flooring institute in our facility. Our Haldeman-Homme equipment offerings are on display in 4 newly created showrooms totaling 6500 square feet. |
