Company OverviewQuicksilver Express Courier provides package delivery services in and surrounding the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Our clients include such diverse businesses as medical facilities, attorneys, banks, and manufacturing plants. Most deliveries generally go from business to business and range anywhere from envelopes to trucking freight. Employment opportunities exist for package courier drivers in your own vehicle or truck driver positions in freight vehicles.In 1981, after spending six years as a high school teacher in Minneapolis, our CEO Mike Crary founded Quicksilver Express Courier. He convinced seven of his friends to quit their jobs and become owner-partners. With limited funds but unlimited vision, we opened July 1, 1982, completing only one delivery our first day. Since that first delivery, our goal has been to be a leader in the industry. We were the first company to offer 45 minute service. Drivers in uniforms was a new concept. In 1985, we began installing computers in the cars, another first. By 1986, we had been listed twice in INC Magazine's "Fastest Growing Businesses in the US". We expanded into five other states, and by 1990, our operations in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Denver, Kansas City and Milwaukee were all ranked as the largest "same day" courier services in their respective cities. We are confident that our most recent expansion to Phoenix is certain to be added to this list. Today we employ 1,000 people and complete over 10,000 deliveries per day. Five of the original founders still work full time for Quicksilver. Nine additional owner-partners have been added in key positions in each of our locations. |
