The University of Minnesota Crookston is located in Northwest Minnesota. Crookston (population 8,000) is located on the Red Lake River, just 30 miles from Maple Lake and the western front of Minnesota’s “lake country.” Crookston is one of Minnesota’s safest and most affordable cities, and it is home to a robust school system, a local golf course, and numerous parks, wildlife, and natural history sites.
